August 1, 2003

Levi Henry Joy (69), beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away at 12:05AM this morning. He was at home, surrounded by his family.
Born June 2, 1934 in Hayes, Kansas, Levi’s family moved to Oregon in 1941.  He always considered Oregon as his home, though he left for many years to serve our great nation in the US ARMY.  Levi’s military career spanned over 32 years.  He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wartime eras.
Levi and Marjorie (his wife of 46 years), after raising 4 children returned to Oregon in 1989 and settled in O’Brien to enjoy retirement.  In 1999 Levi helped establish TC Computers in Cave Junction where he worked part-time in the store as well as behind the scenes.
Levi was an active member of the Masons having transferred his membership to Belt lodge #18, in Kerby, OR  on Jan 04, 2001.  He had originally joined Caleb Butler Lodge in 1961 in Ayer, Mass and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on March 21, 1961.
Levi will be missed by many, and remembered fondly by those fortunate enough to have had him in their lives.  He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, two sisters, Wanda Reames, & Doloris Rund (both of Portland, OR.), 4 children, Matthew Joy (Anchorage, AK), David Joy (Medford, OR), Ann Joy (Renton, WA) & Monique Allen (O’Brien, OR), 9 grandchildren and many friends.
Levi’s bodily remains have been cremated and placed at the Veterans National Cemetery in Portland.
